Positive: Well located, safe and clean apartment
Negative: Traffic noise, loud music coming from club across the street on weekends. Lack of:
*Bottled water in the fridge on arrival in a hot summer afternoon.
*Coat hangers
*Corkscrew, not any more, we bought one
*Tea towel
Summary: We enjoyed the city’s beauty and character and the warmth of the Uruguayan people.

Positive: It is located in the central downtown area and less than 5 minutes from Plaza Independencia from where you catch a hop on hop off bus and 20 minute walk to Mercado Puerto. The apartment itself is modern and has secure access. It’s a 5 minute walk down to the sea and Rambla.
Negative: Be aware that the street has limited street lighting at night and although very central properties alternate between new apartment blocks and some vacant shops with litter. We had problems using the owners nominated on line card payment provider despite repeated attempts with both Visa and Master card. It meant having to scrabble around to get additional $ to pay. The owners do not correspond in English and there no English language instructions in the apartment or beforehand. Tip: Once Inside the apartment you will find a blue fob that can be swiped under the keypad from the street to gain access to the building. I mention as I had to translate from English to Spanish to the owner to find this out. You are forewarned!
Message to the owner: some new towels for the bathroom please!

It's a modern apartment building in the centre of Montevideo. Good value for money. Very clean, with AC and fully equiped kitchen.
Negative:
There wasn't drinking water in the apartment and I couldn't find free coffee and tea.
Summary: Comfy stay in Montevideo close to historic centre.
